This is a quilt of unexpected consequences. A kaleidoscopic design is composed of identical triangular wedges that radiate from a center point. In these mostly hexagonal shapes, I tried a different strategy. The wedges are the usual identical motifs but are not identical colors. Instead I've used different colorways of the same fabric design to create something unexpected -- even to me. Both the figures and the ground reference Matthew Shlian's folded paper art with permission from the artist. The patchwork ground is paradoxically quiet and exciting.
